MR. ADNAN OKTAR'S EXPLANATIONS REGARDING SINCERE AND PROFOUND PRAYER
(From Mr. Adnan Oktar's live interview on Kanal 35 TV and Kayseri TV, November 22nd, 2009)
ADNAN OKTAR: While praying one needs to pray most for having a sincere connection with Allah. We will pray to Allah for His granting a sincere faith, genuine fear of Allah, a true grasp of Allah’s might and grandeur to our hearts. If one loves, grasps and knows Allah heartily, if he melts in Allah’s existence, in one sense, if he completely submits himself to Allah, then he acquires an astounding power. Then everything becomes so easy. Fear of Allah and love of Allah are the foremost issues of every subject. It is deep faith in Allah. It is one thing to say that there is a Creator and another thing to employ the brain power to its very boundaries and get into touch with Allah with a profound bond unknown to people, at the upper boundaries of the brain power. This is the most acceptable form. If one asks for it from Allah candidly, then Allah grants this.

Allah also remains distant to a person who is [himself] distant to Him.
Allah remains spiritually close to the one who is close to Allah. For instance, right now I am speaking; it is Allah Who makes me speak. An individual can not claim that he is the one himself speaking. If a subject occurs to my mind, it is Allah Who brings that subject to my mind. If I make an explanation, then it is Allah Who makes me give that explanation. Allah makes me utter every each word and again it is Allah Who makes me engage in every deed. It is very important for a Muslim to see that everything belongs to Allah. To say, “I have done this”, “It is me doing it” would displease Allah. It is a displeasing attitude for Allah. Except for this, an individual may pray for being good, healthy and right but a believer has to deal with this issue first... This is the most important issue. This should be dealt with first. People consider deep faith as something unimportant. They want to continue [their lives] with a moderate level of faith. But one needs to ask for very deep faith from Allah. One needs to plead to Allah day-and-night for profound faith because a person has a tremendous power to make his mind crystal-clear. A human being’s power to grasp is breathtaking. A person seeks to remain as if he is in his childhood due to hastiness, old habits and the understanding of faith that is inherited from childhood. The fact is however, if a person can not trust in Allah in the face of an incident, then this is a weakness of faith. At that point, an individual needs to be displeased with himself for Allah’s sake and strive to definetly get over it. For instance if he feels sorry and gets angry in the face of an incident, this means he has a weakness at some point in his faith because if he has a strong faith he needs to neither feel sorry nor fear. So this means that he has not supported himself spiritually. He needs to open himself fairly and when he believes with a sound faith he both trusts in Allah more, and no longer feels unnecessary sorrow and anger. At this point he understands that his faith has become more sound. These are the measures of faith; not getting angry, feel sorry and envy. In case these occur in a person, he will say, “Be thanks to Allah; Allah has strenghtened my faith.”
