In a society that is ignorant of God's true religion Islam and the Book He sent down The Qur'an and the superior morals commanded in it, there are many wrongs which are considered right and many rights which are considered wrong. It is these flawed standards that give the society many of the problems that even their governments can't solve despite putting all their efforts and money into. For man to make up his own rights and wrongs is very dangerous and will only cause more and more problems for society. God the All-Knowing, All-Encompassing Creator of man has sent down His final revelation the Qur'an which is a Guidance to all of mankind. It is God who knows his creation best; Does He who created not then know? He is the All-Pervading, the All-Aware. (67/14).
Therefore the commandments God has set forth are the best for man even though man may not understand, in one verse of the Qur'an Allah reminds His servants of the superiority of his way and the comfort that lies in it ...if, as is sure, there comes to you Guidance from Me, whosoever follows My Guidance, will not lose his way, nor fall into misery. (20/123), further in the next verse Allah reminds man of the consequences of not following His Guidance, "But whosoever turns away from My Message, verily for him is a life narrowed down, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Judgment." (20/124)
Especially in present times there is hardly anyone who has not heard of Islam, in an age of technological abundance, tv, radio, internet, telecommunications, transport, the printing press, media... it is the responsibility of every human being with an open mind and conscience to understand Islam properly and realise that it is God's true religion. In another verse God addresses man with the following; If anyone desires anything other than Islam as a religion, it will not be accepted from him, and in the Next World he will be among the losers. (3/85)
Among many, an important purpose of God’s final religion is to invite people back to the “Tawhid”, “the Oneness of God” from which many previous people had deviated. God reminds us in the Qur’an how He revealed to all previous people the same religion, Islam; mans natural pattern; He has laid down the same religion for you as He enjoined on Nuh: that which We have revealed to you and which We enjoined on Ibrahim, Musa and ‘Isa…(42/13) We sent no Messenger before you without revealing to him: ‘There is no god but Me so worship Me.’ (21/25) Allah warns us in the Qur’an of the serious sin of associating others with Him, we can see a great example of this through the Prophet Luqman’s advice to his son; When Luqman said to his son, counselling him, ‘My son, do not associate anything with Allah. Associating others with Him is a terrible wrong.’ (31/13) Allah also reminds man that if anyone associates another with Him his works will be fruitless and he will be one of those astray; in the following verse Allah gives us a brilliant example of those who associate others with Him; Be people of pure natural belief in Allah, not associating others with Him. As for anyone who associates others with Allah, it is as though he had fallen from the sky and the birds seized him away or the wind had dropped him in a distant place. (22/31)
It has been revealed to you and those before you: ‘If you associate others with Allah, your actions will come to nothing and you will be among the losers. (39/65)
If anyone desires anything other than Islam as a religion, it will not be accepted from him, and in the Next World he will be among the losers. (3/85)
